Achilles Rupture Recovery

Sol’s Achilles Return-to-Running
(ATR: Sunday, October 19th, 2025)

Since many people who have suffered an ATR are wanting to get back to running, this page lists a reduced timeline featuring those points which I, personally, found most relevant for a ‘return-to-running’ month-by-month summary.

The idea is to highlight the running-specific steps as well as other concrete milestones I feel were relevant to providing and strengthening a firm basis for long distance and trail running as well as intervals and short sprints.

Medical disclaimer (click -> collapse)

I am, however, not suggesting that anyone else should directly base their recovery / rehab PT on my personal experiences; anyone recovering from an Achilles tendon rupture should be instructed by / in the care of a medical professional / physical therapist; if you do not have such resources available locally, I recommend getting in touch with Chris Smith (of Achilles Rebuild) to look into possible options available to help you recover under remote professional supervision.

I have made this information available purely as part of a personal recovery journal.
